Coming Soon!

Today, Michael and I went to the doctor to check up on Thatcher. We had our 36 week, that's right, 36 week, as in 4 weeks or less till he arrives, ultrasound. Here are some pictures of him. Use your imagination and hopefully you will be able to see his face. We did not have pictures of Brenton at this point, because he was face down so all we saw was the back of his head. Thatcher's pictures show his profile with his arm over his eyes. The other shows his lips and nose. You can see that he has his lips puckered, Michael said he probably had just finished sucking his thumb! They are estimating he weighs about 6 lbs 4 oz. If he goes full term that means he will probably be over 8 lbs. We were glad to see that he is growing well and that he is still a boy (she confirmed that today).

More Celebration for Baby Thatcher

On Saturday, Michael's mom and our friend Ashley gave us a baby shower to celebrate Thatcher's coming. It was a great way to get ready for him! We got almost everything we need. We had the cutest green and brown cupcakes and lots of good food. Ashley made the cutest chocolate bear suckers and an adorable diaper cake. Brenton was sort of interested, but had a lot of children to play with, which was apparently more fun than opening baby gifts. We also had to take some time at the end of the party to snap some pictures of Brenton with Luke and Lily, since Brenton and Luke ended up with the same Halloween shirts (again). Brenton was tired and decided to suck his thumb and play with Lily's hair. Thanks to all of those who came! What a blessing each of you are to us! A special thanks to Christy (Mom) and Ashley!

"Halloween" Baby Shower

Last Friday, our wonderful, wonderful Sunday School class gave us a baby shower. The unusual thing about this shower was that most of us were in costume, since Halloween is coming up. Michael and I were Mary and Joseph. It was great to see how creative our friends are and we were overwhelmed at all the diapers we brought home for Thatcher. Lesley, Carrie, and Christina all made the most adorable diaper cakes. Thanks girls and guys! We feel so blessed to have such great friends!

Little Artist

Last week while I was scrapbooking, Brenton really felt like he needed to help. Unfortunately, I did not need his help :-) I gave him his crayons and paper and he created his own art work and some of it ended up on his face!

Fall Fun

Last Monday, we had our fall pictures taken by our wonderful photographer, Sondra Bolling. We arrived early and snapped a few pictures of Brenton in the leaves. We thought he looked so cute in this outfit.

Brenton and the Pumpkins

Yesterday, we went to Dollywood (again) for the Harvest Festival. We mostly ate, let Brenton ride some rides, and had a great time enjoying the fall decorations and weather.

Go Alcoa!

On Friday, October 17, we went to see the Alcoa Tornadoes play football. Brenton loves to watch the game, and especially his cousin Justin (JT) who plays for Alcoa. It was good football weather and Brenton had a great time. We were amazed at how still he sat during the game. He loved the band and watching for the "ball ball." Most of all he loved to clap, which happened a lot because Alcoa won by 55 to 0.

Thornton Family

On Sunday, October 12, Michael's mother's side of the family had a cookout. Michael's mom is one of five children, so when everyone gets together it is a big crowd. Here are some pictures with Michael, his grandparents, his siblings, and his cousins. There is also a picture of the group with all of their children (the great grandchildren). It is a big crew!

Fall Festival

On Saturday, October 11, we went to the Fall Festival. It was hot! Or at least too hot for October and a Mommy who was 33 weeks pregnant. Brenton played in the little play area and we visited the crafts. He had a good time, but was ready to come home for a nap.

Brenton's Build-a-Bear

Today we went to Build-a-Bear to make Brenton a big brother bear. We wanted to do this before Thatcher arrives, so after a visit to check on baby Thatcher, we went to West Town.

While we were at the doctor we got to listen to Thatcher's heartbeat and Brenton thought that it was really funny. I think that he thought that it was a song because he started to clap.

Brenton picked out a black bear called a Dimples Bear (fitting for Brenton). He is dressed in a sweater vest and brown pants (also fitting for Brenton). It was so sweet as Brenton patted, kissed, and put a heart in the bear. We named him Duck Duck since that is Brenton's most often used word, although that may be confusing to say that about a bear.

We are excited to see what kind of big brother Brenton is going to be!

The Bradburn's went camping?

Okay, so we just got back from 2 days of camping. I know that you are thinking that you must have read wrong, but that's right the Bradburn's went camping. We spent 2 nights at Lazy Daze in Townsend with Michael's parents, and we had a great time.

It was raining on Wednesday when we got all set up, but did finally stop in time for a night time camp fire. Brenton loved the rain. On Thursday the weather was perfect and we spent the day relaxing (at least while Brenton was napping) and playing. Brenton played in the river and could not get enough until we had to pull him out because he was freezing.

We loaded up this morning and came home and Brenton is one dirty boy who needs a good scrubbing! I guess we will try it again after Thatcher is old enough. It seems like a family with boys should really spend time outside and camping is a great way to do it!

A Visit from Luke and Lily

Yesterday, Brenton had more company when Luke and Lily came to play. Luke and Lily belong to Trish [Michael's cousin] and Kevin, and it had been a while since we had gotten together. Luke and Lily are 3 weeks younger than Brenton and they all had a good time playing "together." It is amazing to me to think that Luke and Lily were born at 31 weeks and how that has not slowed their development at all. All 3 babies were running, jumping, climbing, and they especially enjoyed the pizza dinner that we had.

Baby Tarzan?

Last Friday, I was making dessert for our Sunday school class's picnic when Brenton came walking into the kitchen looking quite like a tiny Tarzan. He is very confused by long sleeves and this was the first time this season that he had worn them. After I fixed his shirt it wasn't long before the look was back and he had pulled out the pots and pans. What a funny boy!

Later on Friday we joined our friends at the park and Brenton had a great time. He especially loved playing with Jackson and his bubbles. Jackson was so sweet to play with Brenton when he could have been playing on the big playground. Thanks Jackson!
